Ruhul Rahat ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Simple Travel Packing List mobile application (the "App") under the package name com.simplelog.packlist.

We are deeply committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy details our practices concerning the processing of information gathered through our App, including how we handle local data and external API weather requests.

1. Summary (Privacy First & Offline-First Checklist)

The Simple Travel Packing List is designed as an offline-first checklist and trip organizer.

• No Account Required: You do not need to register, create a profile, or share an email address to use the App.
• Local-First Checklists: All trip names, packing checklists, templates, dates, and packing progress are stored exclusively on your local device. We do not operate external database servers and do not sync your checklists to the cloud.
• Anonymous Weather Forecast Requests: The App features an optional weather-aware recommendation module. When you search for a destination's weather, the App communicates with a third-party weather service (open-meteo.com) to retrieve the forecast. This request is entirely anonymous and does not share any personal identifiers or user locations.

2. Information We Process and How We Use It

A. Data You Input (Stored Locally Only)

You manually enter the following information:

• Trip profiles (Trip names, trip dates, destination names, checklist items, and template configurations).

This information is saved securely within your device's private sandbox database partition and is never transmitted to us or any third parties.

B. Third-Party Weather API Requests (Anonymous Network Calls)

To provide real-time weather suggestions, the App queries open-meteo.com using the city name you enter as the trip destination.

• Anonymous Queries: The API request sends only the destination name/coordinates to fetch weather data.
• No Personal Data Linked: We do not collect or share your device's GPS coordinates, IP address, device identifiers, or any personal details with open-meteo.com.
• No Logging: We do not log or store your search history or destinations on our servers.

C. Device Permissions

The App may request the following system permissions to support core workflows:

• Internet Connection: Used exclusively to fetch weather forecast suggestions from the third-party provider.
• Storage / Photos / Files (Export Access): Used only to compile and export your packing lists locally to CSV files. We do not scan, browse, or read any other files or directories on your device.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

• No Data Monetization: We do not sell, trade, rent, share, or disclose any data inputted into the App with advertising networks, third-party trackers, or marketing databases.
• Weather Service: The only third-party entity with whom the App communicates is the public API open-meteo.com solely for fetching meteorological forecasts. No personal data is exchanged.
• No Possession of Data: Since your checklists remain strictly on your local device, we do not possess any of your trip data and cannot disclose it to any third parties or legal authorities.

4. Retention and Deletion

• Complete User Ownership: You have absolute control over your records and can edit or delete any trip checklist inside the App at any time.
• Permanent Data Deletion: If you wish to wipe all database files permanently, you can easily do so by:
  1. Going to your Android system settings, choosing the App, and selecting "Clear Storage" or "Clear Data."
  2. Uninstalling the App.

Uninstalling the App permanently and immediately deletes all locally saved databases and records. This data cannot be recovered.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Our App is not directed at children under the age of 13. Since the App collects zero personal data, it is fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

6. Updates to This Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy periodically. We will alert you to changes by publishing the updated version on this page and revising the "Last Updated" date. You are encouraged to review this page regularly.
